Cop Steals Slot Machine Ticket from Cop
It
seems that if you are going to steal,
first of all you should not be a
policeman. It also stands to reason that
if you choose to ignore the first
warning, you shouldn’t steal from
another policeman – even if he is
retired. However, if you choose to
ignore both of these warnings, then your
name must be Marshall Dunnigan.
Believe it or not, former Peoria Police
Lt. Marshall Dunnigan, and we say former
because he was fired after he stole from
Roger Lowery – a retired Peoria
policeman, chose to ignore all of the
previous warnings and supposedly stole
gambling winnings. Allegedly, Dunnigan
took a winning wagering receipt from a
slot machine that belonged to another
customer, who turned out to be Lowery.
They were both playing the slot machines
at the Par-a-Dice riverboat casino when
Dunnigan supposedly took the receipt
worth about $700 from the retired
policeman. Not only did he know that
Lowery was a retired policeman, he knew
that he was taking money that belonged
to him specifically as he knew which
slot machine the man had been playing.
The worst part of all of this is not
that Dunnigan stole money from another
slot machine player, or even that he
stole at all. It is the mere fact that
he would steal from a fellow police
officer, and one that was retired at
that. The riverboat’s security system
caught the act on tape, and the Illinois
Gaming Commission is keeping that under
wraps, but Dunnigan has been terminated
from the force.
