Win at Diamond Jo for Over $1 Million

In Northwood, Iowa, there was one very lucky man by the name of Michael Strub, who walked away with more than $1 million in winnings from the Diamond Jo Casino. The retired carpenter was playing the statewide progressive $1 Wheel of Fortune slot machine when he hit the jackpot for a total of $1,096,077.

Strub said he liked playing the Wheel of Fortune slot machine because of the spin bonus, but even after he saw the win he still thought he had only won $3,000. He didn’t realize that he had actually won the big jackpot. He said he won on his first $80 that he had put into the slot machine while he was out with his wife and mother-in-law for some dinner.

He said that this was only their second time at the casino, because although he used to live there they now live outside of Chicago, and were just in town to visit family. He said they came one time before when it was first opened, but have not returned until now. He said he once won what he thought at the time was a big hit at $2,700 at an Illinois Casino, and is planning on sharing the money with his family.

He said that the Diamond Jo was not only good to him, but it was also good to the community as it brought in jobs, which helps the young people too. The casino has been open for almost a year now, and has had about 1 million people come through over the last months. They say the Wheel of Fortune progressive slot machine is probably one of the most popular ones out there today.
