French Lick Cashes In
The
French Lick Springs Resort has been open
three months now, and is making a lot of
people very happy – including its
owners. The casino has been having a lot
of repeat customers, some say they have
been there as many as 30 or more times
since the opening, and they don’t plan
on ever stopping. One winner said he
just won $1,000 on the Diamonds and
Devils slot machine, and was leaving for
the day, but that he would be back.
Ever since the state legalized slot
machines at their riverboats, casinos
have been opening their doors. The state
is home to eleven different slot machine
casinos, with Casino Aztar being the
first to open. The French Lick Casino is
not a new casino per say, but rather
part of a $382 million historic
restoration that includes two hotels –
one of which will open next month.
Most of the state’s riverboat casinos
are on actual rivers or lakes, but
French Lick’s is on a man-made lake,
which makes its design a little
different from the rest of the state.
They tried to take advantage of the
location to make an open casino, whereas
many of the others had to stick with the
conditions they were given in having it
in an actual vessel. They don’t have
smoke free areas, but they say that they
consider their air cleaner than most as
they turn it over eleven times an hour.
They have 1,200 slot machines, 32 table
games, and a 12 table poker room. They
also have a VIP room, and all the slot
machine favorites like Wheel of Fortune,
Pyramid, and Double Easy Money. They
also aren’t located near a major highway
like many of the others are, but they
don’t see that as a problem, they think
people will continue to come anyway
because they have so much to offer.
