French Lick Casino Still Producing
The
state released figures this week that
said the French Lick Casino had 244
fewer visitors in January then in
December, but no one seems to be overly
concerned. They say that this is an off
season time anyway, so they are not
worried that January’s numbers may have
been lower.
They also pointed out that although they
may have had less people, they actually
had more money wagered and more visitors
staying in the hotel than the month
before. They brought in $1.2 million
from their table games and $7.2 million
from their slot machines. The table
games wagered amount matched that spent
in December, but the amount for slot
machines actually increased over the
$6.6 million that was spent in December.
The number of guests at the hotel had
also increased, which put their numbers
for occupancy rates even higher. They
say that they won’t be worried until
they see drops in revenue, or if their
peak season – May to September – ends up
with less people coming in. They say
February is never a good month anyway,
and the extreme cold temperatures are
keeping people away.
However, that is not to say that the
slot machine casino is sitting back on
its haunches waiting to see what will
happen. They are continuing their
promotions and daily adding more names
into their database. They are also
looking to see if the number of slot
machines and table games are working for
their location, or if they need to
change up the numbers somewhat.
