Hollywood Casino Rolls Out Red Carpet
The
Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge opens their
doors tomorrow, with all the fanfare
fitting a casino called Hollywood. The
casino is owned by Penn National Gaming,
Inc. and cost them $8.5 million to
renovate it. They have completely
changed the interior, as well as added
memorabilia from movies and celebrities,
added retail stores, etc.
The casino is having celebrity
impersonators of many well known actors
– Prince, Johnny Depp, Whoopi Goldberg
and Cher. They will also have B.J.
Thomas – the five time Grammy Award
winner - performing. They are having
giveaways of every kind – and players
can win a new Porsche, diamonds, trips to
the real Hollywood, etc.
The owners of the slot machine casino
say that the residents of Baton Rouge
are ready to be treated like stars, and
that is their goal. They said that they
have been an established presence in the
city for more than 12 years, and they
are proud to bring more offerings to the
people of the city and their tourists.
The casino has 1,145 slot machines and
27 table games, along with restaurants,
etc. to keep anyone occupied. They also
have the new Studio 7 which will have
regional and local favorites performing
nightly. They have also added
memorabilia for the star struck,
including a cashmere and mink collar
cardigan from Marilyn Monroe’s personal
estate. They also have James Dean’s
jacket from “East of Eden,” Elvis
Presley’s suede jacket from the
promotion of “Suspicious Minds,” Clark
Gable’s military jacket, and Roger
Moore’s dinner suit from “A View to a
Kill,” as well as movie posters and
more.
