Slot Machines Take Discipline
It
truly seems like a no brainer, but
discipline is all it takes to succeed in
anything in life – and that includes
slot machines. If you play more than you
can afford, you end up in trouble – so
just discipline yourself and don’t.
Sounds easy doesn’t it? Well it is and
it isn’t.
As with any of the games at the casinos,
slot machines or tables, you have to
know your limits. For some people that
means taking a certain amount of money
with them and leaving everything else,
including their ATM, at home. This way,
they can only spend what they have and
what they can afford to lose, and
nothing else. They can spend anything
they have won, if they want, but they
can’t spend what they can’t afford.
Some people give themselves goals – once
they win a certain amount, they walk
away no matter how hot the table or slot
machine is. This works as long as you
have a similar goal for how much you can
lose while getting to that win. It is
all about a personal commitment to
yourself, and to your wallet.
Why do people give up on their
discipline? Because they get greedy for
more – they see the winnings and they
keep going until they have lost it all.
It takes making an agreement with
yourself as to how much you can lose,
and then sticking to it like you would
any other agreement. Consider it a
business deal with your bank, and then
stick to it. Another good rule of thumb,
and it is up to you, but once you have
won – get up tell the other folks
goodbye and leave the slot machines and
the casino behind. Otherwise, you will
be sorely tempted to put your money back
in play and this way you can leave
better off than you started.
