Watchdog Group Wants Online Slot Machines Legalized

The group America’s Watchdog has studied the new internet gaming laws of the US and has found that since online gambling has become illegal it has actually gotten worse. They found that more and more people are playing underground for mafia and other organized crime sites, and they are being taken advantage of. They say it has become more dangerous since they tried to stop it.

Even the American Gaming Association is on record saying that new legislation is confusing at best for most people. America’s Watchdog wants groups such as the AGA to lobby Congress and the Bush Administration to make it legal, but regulated.

They believe that by making it legal US casinos would have a regulated gaming or casino environment that would effectively shut out outside vendors, and the offshore gaming industry would fold. This would bring in international clients as well. They also think that since it is a multi-billion dollar a year business that by taxing and regulating it the US could use their law enforcement officials to track down other criminal elements in society.

This would also put illegal bookmakers out of business as Americans could use reliable sources to pay. They also think that the amount of money that could be made from the online gambling is amazing. Not only would you open the country to millions of jobs, you would bring in enough tax revenue to support our economy.
