Desert Diamond Gets Kudos

The Desert Diamond Casino and Hotel on Nogales Highway, located on Tohono O’odham Nation land, is getting some good press these days. It seems that the state’s newest casino has opened its doors and if the press regarding it is to be believed, it is the best thing since sliced bread.

This particular casino is more than just a slot machine casino, it is the promise of a better future for the state. When building this slot machine casino, they decided to stay away from all of the trappings of traditional casinos and make this a destination instead of just some place where you stick coins in a slot machine and hope you win.

The new facility cost $125 million, and it would seem that it was worth it. From the waterfalls coming down the pebble covered walls, to the smoke free poker room – it is hard to tell exactly what the best part of the place is. The slot machine room is quality unto itself, and the fact that it is also smoke free is something that will keep people coming back. There is also a smoke free buffet and steakhouse – which is a perfect idea.

There are hotel rooms as well that are state of the art and comfort all rolled into one, and more slot machines than any other casino in the state. They have 1,089 in one single casino.

Then take into account that they aren’t finished yet. They are upgrading their property some more, and expect the finished project to be something to behold.
