Slot Machine Thievery

Local law enforcement is seeking a man who was discovered breaking open slot machines to get to the money inside. There was a surveillance video that caught the whole thing, and now the police are simply trying to identify the man that is seen on the video attacking the slot machines. They are asking that anyone who has any information on the crime please contact them.

A man came into Dodge’s Ice House on Highway 93 in Carencro wielding an axe in his hand. The man then proceeded to take a couple of practice swings with the axe and then gave the slot machine a good whack with it. Upon smashing open the slot machine he then cleaned out the money that was in it and moved onto the next slot machine.

He smashed each of the slot machines and cleaned them out, and then moved on. He then pried his way into the office that was on the premises and stole money from the safe that was in there and took a handgun as well. He was dressed in dark clothing and was wearing a ski mask so that you cannot get a good look at him.

However, once he goes into the office you can get a better look at him, but it is still tough to see his face. Police are hoping that even if you cannot recognize his face that someone might know something about the crime or recognize some sort of characteristics from the man.

They have released the video to all of the major news organizations and they are asking people to take a look at it to see if they might be able to help them. They said that if you can give them any assistance at all to please call Saint Landry Crime Stoppers at 948-TIPS.
