Hard Rock Sees
Numbers Go Down
The
Hard Rock Casino and Hotel in
Las Vegas, Nevada is not happy with the way their
numbers have been going. They have
recently seen their lowest slot machine
and gaming revenues since 2004, and they
are less than pleased. The casino had
opened new rooms this year as well as
started offering new amenities to their
players, in hopes that this would
increase the amount of people that would
come and would result in an increase in
revenue. However, this was not to be the
case.
They
saw their net revenues decrease 1.7%,
going down to $161.5 million from $164.3
million for the year before. They said
that their hotel revenues had gone down
10.1% and their slot machine and
gambling revenues had gone down 18.3%.
This was in spite of all of the
additional things that they had added
like a larger concert venue, a larger
hotel, and promotions galore for their
slot machines and gaming tables.
They
said that they know that it is the
economy that is doing it, but it still
hurts when you are looking at your
bottom line. They had increased their
staff – which would account for part of
their revenue issues – with the number
of people on call almost double what it
was the year before.
The
slot machine casino is also looking for
a new top executive replacement after
Randy Kwasniewski took his own life
earlier this month. CEO Fred Kleisner is
currently handling it, but only as a
temporary fix.
