Considering Table Games
The
state of Maryland thought that
their troubles were limited to the slot
machines that they can’t seem to get off
of the ground. They have run into more
snags than humanly possible, and here
they are more than a year after slot
machines were legalized – with still no
slot machines up and running. But now,
to make matters worse, the Senate wants
to bring in table games.
The
governor has made it very clear that he
does not want to talk about table games
until the slot machines are up and
running, but the Senate seems to think
that they could implement them all at
the same time. They said that if they
can get casinos to go for the slot
machines and table games together it
would save time and hassle – but the
Governor does not see it that way.
One
of the first places they want to bring
them in is at the racetrack in Prince George’s County. The Senate has already
introduced the bill that would allow for
them, and many believe that it will
passed within the week. This means that
the racetrack could conceivably have
table games before the slot machines are
up and running. If it passes, the state
will have 15,000 slot machines and an
untold number of table games for their
residents to choose from when gambling.
Rosecroft Raceway in Fort
Washington
could be the first to offer the gambling
that the rest of the state is simply
grasping at at this point.
