Myths and Slot Machines 

There are some myths that seem silly in retrospect and others that some still hold true to when it comes to slot machines. The idea that you need to use fresh coins out of the hopper when playing the slot machines because the machine would realize that they are warm and would know where they came from – thus increasing your chances of winning? Seriously? That is quite a tall tale! 

But there are just as many that people still watch today. There are those that are sure that if they play a slot machine long enough that it will pay out because it is “ready” to. In other words, the slot machine knows that it is the same person playing it and is ready to reward them. Or how about the idea that the slot machines that have just paid out won’t pay out again for a really long time because they are A. aware that they just paid out, or our favorite, B. they are tired.  

Nowadays people realize that there are Random Number Generators that determine the win and how you play has nothing to do with it. These RNGs ensure that everyone who plays the slot machine has the exact same chance of winning as the one before them and the one after them. This ensures that the game is fair for everyone who plays it. How loose or tight a slot machine doesn’t have anything to do with the way that you are playing, it has to do with the regulations that the casino has agreed to in advance with the Nevada Gaming Commission.
