States are
Expanding Gambling Options
It
used to be that if you wanted to play
the slot machines you really had to go
to Atlantic City
or
Las Vegas. They
were the only two places that offered
the kind of slot machine gaming that
most people were looking for. But then
that changed. One by one the states
started asking to be allowed to bring in
slot machines because they could see
that there was a lot of money to be had
from them. States that you would never
have thought about offering slot
machines were all of a sudden jumping on
the bandwagon – and now more states have
slot machines than don’t.
But
with all of these states adding slot
machines, you end up with a lot more
competition than before. Every time
another state adds slot machines to
their offerings, they are cutting down
the gambling pool. It isn’t like there
is more money to go around – just ask
New Jersey. A
tough economy compiled with every
surrounding state adding in slot
machines made for a very poor year
revenue wise.
But
then the states start seeing that they
are not bringing in as much slot machine
revenue because of the other states
adding them in, and now you have a bunch
of them wondering how they might add
more. There are at least 18 states
looking to expand their gambling
offerings this year, and it just keeps
getting better. They think that they are
going to be able to bring in a ton more
money because of the expansion. And they
will, until the state next door adds the
same thing.
