Large Seizure
of Slot Machines
The
state of Alabama was the location
of another large seizure of slot
machines according to Governor Bob
Riley’s Task Force. They received a tip
that a new casino in Mobile County
was running illegal slot machines and
upon arrival they determined that this
was the case. Located in Chickasaw, the
casino was running 25 illegal slot
machines which were seized by the task
force. They closed the facility down as
well.
Jon
Tyson, Jr., Mobile County District
Attorney and Commissioner of the Task
Force, said that it was imperative to
close down the facility and seize the
slot machines as they were running an
illegal operation, and breaking the laws
of the state of Alabama. The managers of
the facility were on location, and they
turned over all of the servers and cash
in use at the casino upon the time of
the raid. Chickasaw police officers were
on hand had there been any difficulties,
but they said that the seizure of the
slot machines went of without incident.
They
said that they had to close down the
slot machine facility as it would not be
fair to the rest of the municipalities
to allow slot machines to be at one
location and not at all of the others.
They said that every one must be held to
the same standards and that those that
don’t will be held accountable. He also
said that it would be unfair to allow
the illegal slot machines to operate
when there are those legitimate
charities out there operating bingo
legally.
They
said that by closing down the slot
machine facility they are also sending a
message to the other locations letting
them know that running these illegal
casinos will not be tolerated under any
circumstances. They said that it shows
them that hey are serious about holding
everyone to the letter of the law.
