Vancouver Casino Might Not Happen 

There were many in Vancouver that wanted to see the slot machines come to town. However, it would appear that this is not going to be the case any time soon. Residents have been pushing their city officials to get them slot machines at a large casino in town. But these residents did not realize where they were going to put the casino – and now that they know, they are rethinking their plan. Instead, they think that they might want to move where the slot machines were going to go. 

City Councillors say that the proposed slot machines are going to be located right in the middle of what is now a residential neighborhood and they understand why they are not interested in having them there. Residents say that the slot machines would bring in too much traffic and crime and that this is not the proper venue for them. They say that this is bound to become a “nasty discussion” over whether or not the slot machines can come.  

Not only that, but the money from the slot machines will go towards fixing the BC Place Roof and the city itself won’t see any of the revenue. This makes it even harder to sell to residents who already don’t want it there. They said that they think most residents are under the impression that there will be money in it for them, and there won’t be. They said that there are going to be a lot of disappointed people, as well as angry residents when this thing goes through.
