Absolute Poker Making Changes
AbsolutePoker.net has announced that
they will no longer be using
professional poker players to promote
their brands. They are pulling out of
the US domestic market, but will
continue to use professional players in
their international promotions. This
does not affect US players, only their
marketing techniques.
The company had announced that they
would no longer be using poker
professional Michael “The Grinder”
Mizrachi after it expires in May. Many
thought the company would just renew the
deal, but they have decided not to,
leaving Mizrachi free to explore other
options.
Mizrachi has allegedly already been made
several offers from other poker
companies seeking to hire him now that
he will be free of his contract. As
Mizrachi was Card Player Magazine’s 2006
Player of the Year, he will get snatched
up fairly quickly one would expect. His
agent said that with the industry
constantly changing, they are more than
willing to work within that industry and
adapt to any changes that come their
way.
The company also made the announcement
about their Absolute Dream Package
Winner, as this was its second year
running. The winner got access to the
main poker events this year, as he got
free entry to the biggest tournaments,
including training from the pros.
