Transfers Clients
Several
players are upset this week because they
were switched to a new casino – without
their approval. The Breakaway, Connect2
and Sci-Fi casino venues switched their
online gambling players to another
casino and anther platform, but did not
feel the need to let their players know
ahead of time, or even ask their
permission to share their personal
information with another company.
Each player received an email called
“Important Changes to your Account,”
which then told them of the change. It
said that because of the US ban on
internet gambling, many casinos were no
longer offering play time to US players.
RealTime Gaming was one of those groups
that would no longer be accepting US
players. They are owned by the Norwegian
group Playsafe Holding AS, and felt it
was in their best interest to limit
their scope of players.
The email told them that they had been
transferred to Pantasia, and that they
could use their old account number and
password to access it. This means that
RealTime gave personal information to
Pantasia without asking them if they
were interested, or if they wanted their
personal information accessible to
someone other than those they had
expressly given permission to.
Rival software said that personal
information like credit cards and bank
accounts were not included in the
information that was transferred.
However, they said that this sort of
thing happens all the time, and that it
was a common practice to do so. Players
don’t agree and are rightfully angry
that they were not asked first.
