Public
Outcry Campaign
Casino
Gambling Web is trying to get people to
help them reverse the Unlawful Internet
Gambling Enforcement Acct. They want
people to go to their web site and get
their representatives’ phone numbers and
start calling them to tell them that it
needs to be overturned.
They have set up a page on their web
site that people can go to, to get their
information for calling. The page is
www.casinogamblingweb.com/us-representative-contact-information.jsp
for a list of all the reps and their
phone numbers, and mailing addresses in
Washington, D.C. They are calling it
their Public Outcry Campaign, and they
want to make sure that people start
getting the word out that they want it
overturned.
They want people to call and speak for
about two minutes every day, and they
want you to call your state reps a least
one time each – but daily is better.
They have released a statement that they
would like people to follow it goes as
follows:
"Hello, my name is _______ ________, I
live in (the state where you live) and I
would like to tell (the representative
you are calling) about my displeasure
with the Unlawful Internet Gambling
Enforcement Act, which is a bill that
was passed last year as an attachment to
the Safe Port Act. I would like (the
representative you are calling) to know
that I support Barney Frank and his
future bill that is meant to repeal the
Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement
Act."
Also, they have a list of talking points
on their site that they would like
people to follow up on – they want you
to mention them to the representative
that you are speaking with. They say
that you don’t have to mention all of
them, but if you can at least mention
one of them that would be best for the
cause. They say you can call every day
and mention a different talking point
each day if you want, just so long as
you are able to get your point across.
They believe that the more people they
can get calling, and if they can get
them calling daily, the more our
representatives will know how they have
gone against the American public’s
wishes to have online gambling made
illegal. They say that the government is
acting on their own free will, and did
not take their constituents into
consideration when passing the bill.
