Finland Slot Machines Making a Move
Finland’s Slot Machine Association, RAY,
has decided to transfer its IT
infrastructure to Fujitsu Services Oy.
Much of it has already been outsourced,
but this new move will cover 19,000 slot
machines as well as other services.
RAY’s 850 workstations and 60 services
will be handled out of Helsinki in
Fujitsu’s data center located there.
With the number of slot machines that
they are transferring, it only made
sense that they went with a company that
could handle everything they needed.
The
slot machine association will now be
handed by their Patja service, and
Fujitsu won the right to be their
service provider after the association
compared all of the bids they had
received. They determined that
economically sound as well as the most
appropriate for RAY’s slot machine
needs. IT Manager Herkko Hakala of RAY
said, "Fujitsu's solutions are fully
productized and its service production
processes standardized. What is more,
Fujitsu is able to offer us several
productized additional services suitable
for our needs. Service quality, in other
words customer satisfaction, was also
evidenced to us. Fujitsu's processes are
based on the ITIL model, which seems to
work very well.”
Raha-automaattiyhdistys, Finland’s Slot
Machine Association, commonly called
RAY, has an exclusive right in Finland
to operate slot machines and casino
table games, as well as running slot
machine and gambling casinos. The slot
machine association was established in
1938 as a way to raise funds to support
Finnish health and welfare
organizations.
