Increased Slot Machine Revenues
MGM
Mirage Inc. announced Thursday that
their third quarter profit had risen 68%
due to increased slot machine revenues
and better operating margins. The
world’s second largest slot machine
casino company, MGM Mirage saw its’ slot
machines put their revenue up 5% to
$1.90 billion, from $1.81 billion last
year. It seems that slot machines have
been very good to the MGM Mirage.
Their
shares may have fell 38 cents, but they
usually have an annual range of $34.20
to $46.15. Their slot machine casino
revenue rose 5%, with double-digit gains
in slot machine revenue at several
resorts. The slot machines at Bellagio,
MGM Grand Las Vegas, Mandalay Bay, etc.
were the ones that helped bring their
slot machine revenue numbers up this
last quarter.
The
Beau Rivage slot machine casino in
Biloxi, Mississippi, was just rebuilt
and opened 33 days into the last
quarter. The slot machines at the casino
helped quite a bit with their slot
machine revenues as they contributed $16
million to their totals. Those numbers
for their slot machine revenue have
jumped greatly, as when the slot machine
casino was open before Hurricane Katrina
it was only bringing in $12 million.
