Ohioans are Anti-Slot Machines
The
polls have not opened in Ohio yet, but
many are already casting their votes in
favor of the Democrats and against slot
machines. In a recent poll, Ohioans said
that they thought bringing in Democrats
would be good for the state, as the
state needed a change. However, that
change would not be in the form of slot
machines, as the majority think that
slot machines would do more harm than
good to the state.
Even
though months ago many voters thought
that bringing in slot machines might be
good for both the economy and the
education system, it seems that they
have changed their minds. The slot
machine measure, labeled Learn and Earn,
has said that the whole point of
bringing in the slot machines was to
give college scholarships to high school
students. It seems that most voters feel
that the slot machines won’t help, and
are somewhat confused about what one has
to do with the other.
The
survey that checked how voters will be
leaning in the next election said that
48 percent would definitely vote against
slot machines, 42 percent said that they
would vote for slot machines, and 10
percent said that they just didn’t know
how they felt about them. Experts say
that they think the majority of that 10
percent is leaning toward voting against
the slot machine measure, which would
put it well over the 51% needed to
defeat the slot machine proposal.
