Slot Machines Need Innovation to Survive
One
overwhelming theme of the latest gaming
expo in Las Vegas is that in order to
keep up with the changing times, slot
machines must continue to be innovative.
Today’s slot machine player is not the
same as the past, they want to see more
updated slot machines for they feel if
they are putting their money into it,
they want more out of it than just the
clinking of coins.
It is
also important for manufacturers to keep
up with the demand for new and better
slot machines, so that they have a
product to sell to casinos that already
have all the slot machines they need.
Some casinos will change out slot
machines as they get old, broken, or
outdated, and need something new to
catch the eye of the average slot
machine player. There is also a need for
slot machines whenever a state or
country decides to legalize slot
machines where they were not before. In
this case, the manufacturer has to have
a product that will put them above the
other choices, and make that particular
country or state choose their slot
machines over the competition.
There
is also a need for new slot machines
whenever someone comes up with a good
idea for the slot machines and it
changes the way slot machines are viewed
throughout the industry. A good example
of this kind of technology change is the
advent of ticket instead of coin slot
machines. The casinos loved them because
it made the process more cost efficient;
the slot machine manufacturers loved
them because it gave them a new product
to sell to existing customers. With the
new server-based gaming, slot machine
makers are hoping for basically the same
effect – with casinos running out to
upgrade their current slot machines for
the new ones.
