Slot Machine Violations Lead to Fine
Century City is facing a $100,000 fine
for accounting violations. The Colorado
Limited Gaming Control Commission also
fined nine other slot machine casinos
from $250 to $8,500 each, for revoked
slot machine software. This is the
second time Century City has been
penalized since it opened five months
ago.
The
Gaming Division Director Ron Kammerzell
said that the slot machine casino’s
patrons had not been affected by the
issues, but that it was more of an
internal problem. At a public meeting of
the regulatory panel, he said, "We had
concerns about how the casino's business
was being conducted.”
The
casino had already been fined almost
$90,000 for operating illegal slot
machines, and this time they could not
produce the required statistical reports
upon request. The slot machine casino
seems to be having troubles verifying
their reported revenues, and the
casino’s internal compliance officer
lost his license as well. They posted
$37 million in slot machine and gambling
revenues for last year, but were unable
to prove those figures.
The
other casinos are in trouble as well,
one casino, the Golden Gulch Casino, had
19 slot machines running with revoked
software. The software on the slot
machines is more of an internal matter,
and Kammerzell said that it really has
no bearing on the way people play the
slot machines. It does not affect
payouts, etc., so it wasn’t as though
anyone who was playing the slot machines
were penalized in any way.
