TouchSense Gives Slot Machine Feedback
Unicum has partnered with 3M United
Kingdom to develop touch screen slot
machines that will give feedback about
the players. Unicum, a slot machine
specialist, is using TouchSense feedback
from Immersion, and has been showing off
their new slot machine ideas at G2E 2006
this week. 3M Touch Systems is the
exclusive manufacturer of the new
technology that will be available to the
slot machine market.
“We have been aware of TouchSense
technology for over a year and in
November 2005 entered discussions with
3M to see how we might work together, in
conjunction with their new relationship
with Immersion Corporation,” commented
Peter Moffitt, VP Gaming at Unicum. “The
technology has enormous potential for
adding an entirely new dimension for the
player…a physical response to the
interaction.”
The result of innovative design and high
end testing is a slot machine that will
keep the player hooked on the gaming
experience. It also allows slot machine
manufacturers and developers to use the
responses received to create bigger and
better slot machines for their
customers. The new system will be
available in slot machines in 2007.
