Schooling for Slots
When your
slot machines break – who do you turn
to? Do you have to send them to a
company to fix them, or is it possible
to have someone on staff who knows how
to fix it? Now take this scenario and
place the slot machines in a place like
Vegas – where slot machine repair places
and people are always in demand and you
have no issue with getting it repaired.
But now put that same scenario in a
place like Florida, who up until
recently didn’t even have slot machines
in the state – never mind anyone who
could fix them. Now you have an issue in
that you would like to have your slot
machines fixed but no one who knows how
to do so.
This outlook is about to change though,
as Florida is now training people how to
fix the slot machines and it is bound to
be a very demanding job. The first
training classes on how to fix slot
machines are now underway, and students
are flocking to them.
They know that they are going to be in
demand as there aren’t that many people
who can do what they will be able to do
– and as the class is only nine weeks it
is something they can learn fairly
quickly and get out there and start
working. The classes teach everything
from the spinning reels to the buttons,
to even how the electronics inside the
slot machine work so that they can
repair any or all of them.
When students graduate from the Sheridan
Technical Center in Hollywood they will
be entry level slot machine repair
people, and will be ushered into a new
era in jobs in the state.
