Illegal Slot
Machines Seized
Oklahoma City
was the scene of an illegal slot machine
gambling operation, much to many
residents’ surprise. There was a
business running that was the scene of
these illegal slot machines, and it was
running right under their noses. Police
received a tip that the slot machines
were being operated and went in to see
if this was really the case.
They
went to Bingo City,
located in northwest
Oklahoma City
and upon arrival realized that there
were illegal slot machines on the
premises. Working together, the Oklahoma
County Sheriff’s Department and the
Oklahoma City Police Department, busted
the patrons that were participating in
playing them last Thursday night. They
did not make any arrests while they were
there though, much to the joy of the
patrons.
They
say that they allowed the 50 or so
patrons that were actually playing the
slot machines to leave and they ended up
questioning roughly 20 employees.
However, they were not able to locate
the owner of the building. They seized
the 20 slot machines that were on the
premises that were being used for the
gambling operation.
They
say that they found illegal phone card
machines that the owner was using as
slot machines. By using the machines as
illegal slot machines he obviously broke
the law. He is facing a felony complaint
of commercial gambling for having the
slot machines on the premises. He could
also be facing a misdemeanor possession
of a slot machine, but authorities will
have to find him first.
