State Will
Have to Keep Waiting for Slot Machine
Revenue
Maryland voted a little more than a
year ago to legalize slot machines. You
probably have not released that they
legalize slot machines because nothing
has really changed as far as the game
goes. Officials said that they thought
it would take a while before the first
slot machines were able to be up and
running, but everyone thought that they
might actually see some sort of movement
by now. Instead there has been none at
all as far as the naked eye can tell.
The slot machines were supposed to
generate more than $300 million a year
for education within the state of
Maryland. However the way it stands
right now it is unlikely that they will
see any of that money anytime soon. Not
only that, but the money that was
supposed to balance the budget is
nowhere to be seen either. All of these
funds were supposed to come
from the slot machines and they have not
yet made an appearance.
The residents of the state say that they
thought that they would actually see at
least some form of temporary structures
by now while more permanent slot machine
facilities are being built. Many of them
are disappointed that a little over a
year later there are still no slot
machines to be found. Instead it is
nothing but mounds and mounds of rape
tape keeping the slot machines from
becoming a reality.
The two largest areas that were to have
the most slot machines, Anne Arundel
County and Baltimore City, have not even
had their slot machine licenses awarded
yet. This means that they are even
further behind other locations at least
know who is bringing the slot machines
in.
