LPCiminelli Leading Construction of
Hoosier Park
LPCiminelli has been tapped by Centaur,
Inc. to lead construction of the new
slot machine facilities at Hoosier Park
in Indiana, as well as Valley View Downs
in Pennsylvania. They will serve as
program manager for the Hoosier Park
facility and construction manager for
the Valley View Downs one.
Centaur is a gaming and horseracing
company out of Indiana, and they are the
owners of both locations. Their Chairman
and CEO, Roderick Ratcliff, says that
they believe that LPCiminelli is the
right choice for the project as they
will “deliver their vision to build
first class gaming and horse racing
venues.” Ratcliff says that they have an
impressive resume and they are fully
confident in their abilities to help
them.
Hoosier Park will be adding on 92,000
sq. ft. to their existing location, and
add in 2,000 slot machines, a bar,
lounge, deli, coffee shop, buffet and a
VIP area. They are planning on being
done by the middle of next year, and it
will cost them $375 million.
Valley View will be developed on 250
acres in Lawrence County, just outside
of Pittsburgh. They will have a harness
racing track as well as a slot machine
facility, and will house 3,000 slot
machines when finished. They will also
have restaurants, lounges, theatres,
etc. to make it a destination instead of
just a harness track. They are expected
to be completed by the end of 2009.
