Connecticut Not Concerned With
Competition
The
Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Report Casino
are two of the largest casinos in the
world. They have long been the resort
destination for slot machine players
from all around the state as well as
out-of-state guests as well, for it was
truly an experience to come play the
slots at these casinos. However, things
are not what they used to be.
The casinos also used to be the only
ones around, and thus if you wanted to
play slot machines you had to go to one
of the two in order to do so. However,
with more and more casinos popping up
around the country, and in New England,
the numbers of people willing to drive
to these casinos is starting to drop.
John O’Brien, the President of Foxwoods
Casino says that there is more than
enough to go around, and that they are
not concerned that there are more slot
machines coming in. In fact, O’Brien
says that they welcome the competition,
and know that when players go to other
casinos they will continue to come back
to Foxwoods because they offer more than
just slot machines and gambling.
O’Brien says that as new slot machine
casinos open, people will undoubtedly
want to play them and give them a try –
their curiosity will lead them to them.
But he knows that those people will
always come back, for the tracks that
add slot machines just don’t have the
same amenities that the Connecticut
casinos offer their clients.
The Connecticut casinos can also offer
24/7 slot machines and gambling,
something the nearby casinos cannot
offer. Rhode Island is considering
allowing it, but so far nothing has been
approved. The Connecticut casinos know
that they have much more to offer their
clients and that when the initial
curiosity wears off they will be back,
and they expect that to continue into
the future as well.
