Machines for Detroit?
Well the competition
for bringing in a slot machine casino
into the city of Detroit in Michigan is
not necessarily going to be as tough as
it was originally thought. There were
two companies that were looking to
possibly bring slot machines to Detroit,
but now there is only one as the one
group has withdrawn their offer to be
involved.
There were two bids from companies that
were attempting to take the Greektown
Casino out of bankruptcy. According to
the Detroit News, Bloomfield Hills
businessman Tom Celani has withdrawn his
bid. The team that he was leading, which
was originally a partnership of his
group, Luna Greektown LLC and a
Connecticut based hedge fund going by
the name of Plainfield Asset Management
have decided that slot machines are not
in the cards for them.
This doesn't mean that the businessman
is giving up on the idea of being
involved with bringing slot machines to
the town. He thinks that there may still
be an opportunity for him to help out
with making the dream a reality, and he
thinks it may have something to do with
how There havethey get licensed in the
United States.
He says that for now it is in their best
interest to walk away from the deal,
because it was turning out to be a
"potential stumbling block" and it is in
everyone's best interest at the slot
machines come in and the casino is able
to come out bankruptcy. He is simply
going to wait and see how he may be of
assistance from this point forward.
