Ready for Massachusetts Casino
According to the
Boston Globe the slot machine casino
that may be coming into Massachusetts
near Interstate 495 in Milford have big
plans for the location. They are
reportedly looking to infuse the
location with up to $800 million. This
would make for not only a great location
to go play slot machines, but it would
also generate roughly seven thousand
jobs for the area.
There have been conversations regarding
the slot machine location, but none have
been reported publically before.
Residents have been curious to know what
the plan has been for bringing in the
slot machines and how it might affect
them, and this is the first time they
have gotten an inkling of what they
might be looking at. Experts say that
with this kind of infusion of cash it
would be tough not to expect a rather
large structure with state of the art
slot machines.
The project has been titled “The
Crossroads Resort Project” and would be
located on 200 acres. They are looking
at bringing in 5,000 slot machines, 250
gaming tables, several thousand hotel
rooms, roughly a dozen restaurants, and
a convention center. In addition, they
are also looking at possibly bringing in
a nightclub.
Although both the House and the Senate
are in agreement as to bringing in slot
machine casinos, However, they do want
to keep the number of slot machines to a
minimum as well as the number of
casinos. They say that by Spring they
should be ready to create the law that
would allow slot machines in the state.
