Making Big Plans for Casino
Pennsylvania has been having problems
bringing in slot machines to a
Philadelphia location. Each time the
mention of slot machines comes up
residents are angered at what they see
as a total disregard for what they want.
Originally residents said that they
would be all right with having slot
machines in their town, but once the
location was announced the residents
were enraged. They find the spot to be a
terrible location as they say it will
bring in too much crime and traffic to
an already overburdened location.
They have been fighting to keep the slot
machines out and the most recent news
only serves to make them angrier. The
casino developer who is planning one of
the two slot machine casinos that will
be located on the Delaware River
waterfront in Philly says that they may
put up a temporary casino instead of a
permanent one going up in phases.
From the viewpoint of the developer
they're having problems with financing
issues thereby making it almost
impossible for them to start a permanent
structure right away. They say that by
bringing in a temporary structure the
additional revenue that comes with the
slot machines might make it easier for
them to start work on the permanent
structure at a later date.
However residents say that there are
already so many temporary structures for
slot machines within the state that if
they are unable to bring in a permanent
facility at this time that the whole
idea should be scratched. They say that
this is simply just a sign that the slot
machines should not be coming into their
city.
