Erie Casino
Brings in Big Bucks
It is
not unusual for players to spend
millions of dollars at a casino over the
course of a month or a year playing the
slot machines. After all, the games are
the biggest money makers that the
casinos have – that is why there are so
many of them out there on the gaming
floor. The slot machines are the number
one draw and even though it appears as
though they are simple to play, there is
a lot of time and effort that goes into
them making them much more of a money
maker than anyone would have thought.
But
the folks over at Presque Isle Downs and
Casino have been watching their fair
share of slot machine revenue come in
since they opened, but they are looking
at very high numbers these days as
players take to the games. They are more
than pleased to announce that for the
week of September 19th
through September 25th that
the casino brought in $14.5 million
being wagered. The players will get back
$37.4 million according to the
Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
There
was also some promotional plays that
were used to draw in the clients and
once they were subtracted there was $3.2
million to be split between the casino
and the state. The casino took $1.5
million and the state took slightly more
at $1.7 million. This was an increase
over same time last year when gamblers
wagered $38.5 million at the casinos
instead.
