Little Bit of
Vegas Coming to
Maine
Maine
voters very narrowly gave permission for
a casino to come to
Oxford, and as
soon as it was approved, there was talk
as to who might be the ones to take on
the running of the slot machines at the
location. There were many names banded
about, but when it came down to it the
Silverton Casino got permission to be
the ones to bring a little glitz and
glamour to the location. Black Bear
Development was pleased to announce the
contract this past week, stating that
the casino is due to open in the spring.
The
company from Vegas will determine how
many and what kind of slot machines are
brought in, as well as the table games
that are going to be offered. They will
also bring in a restaurant and handle
the menu, as well as making the
determinations for the executives and
managers at the casino. The casino has a
long history of marketing their
properties in Vegas so Black Bear felt
that this was the only logical choice
for them in this venture. They say that
they have the same “look, feel and
brand” as the Black Bear goal so they
felt that it was a good fit all around.
The
Silverton Casino that is located in
Vegas is a rather large affair with
90,000 sq ft of gaming space, and more
than 2,000 slot machines to offer their
patrons. They have restaurants, as well
as entertainment venues to boot, and
they are a logical choice to offer the
residents of
Maine
something they have never seen before.
