Cordish Adding Slot Machines?
According to recent reports, Cordish
Cos. is considering competing for a slot
machine license. If Maryland voters end
up approving a referendum that would
allow slot machines to be legal in the
state, the company may just decide to
try and bring in some slots of their
own.
The Baltimore developer has been looking
at sites in Anne Arundel and Cecil
counties – and considering putting in
large complexes. These complexes would
be for entertainment purposes and would
undoubtedly house slot machines if
approved.
The company has already built amazing
complexes in Inner Harbor and down in
Florida, and now they say that they are
going to take a good look at slot
machines and gaming in the city and the
other locations as well. They say that
slot machines and gaming are “major
divisions” in the company.
Company chief David Cordish is not new
to the world of gambling as they do have
experience in the market. However,
throwing their hat into the Maryland
ring would add to the competition that
is already building from other companies
that are also scouting locations.
The company is the same one behind the
Hard Rock themed hotels and casinos in
Florida, so slot machines will truly be
a breeze for them. In addition to the
slot machines, they say that they would
be adding restaurants and shopping.
