A Bonita Springs man by the name of Christopher Detzler, is the big winner in Florida. Detzler was playing a class III slot machine game based on the show Wheel of Fortune on Sunday. Next thing he knew, he had won $3.5 million. According to casino officials this is the largest amount ever won off of a slot machine in Florida. 

The Wheel of Fortune game is a progressive slot machine which means it is linked to other slot machines throughout the state area. When someone hits it at a specific casino they win the money that has accrued from all of the other casinos as well. That slot machine is paid into by all of the other locations in hopes that they will be the one to pay out the winner. 

Detzler says that he is going to purchase a home with a portion of his winnings, but other than that he doesn't know what he will do with the rest at this time. He's just thrilled and shocked that he was able to win such a large amount of money.
