Issue 3 Could
Win
It
looks as though Ohio residents are going
to pass Issue 3. This constitutional
amendment would make slot machines legal
at horse racetracks and would build four
gambling casinos in the state. Northeast Ohio and the southwest part of the state have
the strongest support for the slot
machine initiatives according to
experts.
This
comes as a shock to those who have not
been interested in legalizing slot
machines in the state up until now.
Opponents of Issue 3 say that they were
sure that the state would not pass the
legalization of slot machines
considering how opposed its residents
have been, having voted down similar
proposals several times already. However
Ohioans may not necessarily one slot
machines in their state, but they want
the revenue that would come from it.
Residents of the state say that not only
are they not necessarily for slot
machines but they don't feel that they
have the right to keep them out when
there are so many people who are
interested in playing them. The majority
of residents think that may should not
make this decision for those who are
interested in playing at the slot
machines, and know that the revenue that
would come from them would be
significant.
A
poll from a local newspaper says that
there are 59% of residents across the
state in support of bringing in slot
machines. In the Northeast the proposal
has 63% support. The poll also showed
their registered voters wanted to see
video slot machines at the state horse
racing tracks, 62% think that is a good
idea.
