New
Plan Raises Fears
Texans
have made it very clear that they do not
want slot machines in their midst. Each
time a slot machine has come up for a
vote, residents have overwhelmingly
voted them down. Although there has been
talk over the past year or so to try and
bring in new slot machines again,
residents still say that they would
prefer not to have them. At this point
in time, if residents wish to play a
slot machine, they can simply hop on a
bus which will take them over the state
line where they can play legally.
However the Texas Lottery Commission is
seeking to bring in a game which would
be lottery based, but many think would
simply be one more way of getting slot
machines in the state. The lottery game
would allow players to see immediately
whether or not they had won, thus making
it an online gambling type of game. It
would be an add-on to their Lotto Texas
game; residents say it simply one more
way of trying to bring in a slot
machine.
The
game would work much like an online
game, where the ticket would include six
numbers with the prize amount next to
each one. If any of those numbers match
the player would win the prize next to
the number. There is also talk that the
game could be offered in a stand-alone
format where the ticket would show a
specific kind of game and depending on
the numbers on your ticket as opposed to
the desired outcome you may win.
The
lottery says that it's exactly like a
scratch game only you are not scratching
the latex. They say there are no buttons
or spinning wheels or levers, which
means it is nothing like the slot
machine that opponents are trying to
portray it as. They say that the only
thing that makes them alike is the fact
that they are both electronic games.
