Pennies Mean
Big Bucks
For
all of those people out there who have
been playing at the slot machines for
penny denominations the state of
Nevada
would like to say thank you. With $17.8
billion worth of pennies being played in
the state, the amount of money that
would not have been brought in otherwise
is astounding. When the economy turned
south, many casinos doubled or even
tripled the number of penny slot
machines that they offered their
clients.
The
penny slot machines used to be seen as
an oddity. Those people who played them
were simply little old men and women who
were looking to stretch their retirement
check. However, the casinos say that the
people playing the penny slot machines
these days are not the same people at
all. They say that with most people
having less money to gamble with, they
know that they can play the penny slot
machines and be able to play for a
longer period of time.
According to a recent study, more than
25% of the money that comes from slot
machines in the state of
Nevada is now
coming from the penny slot machines.
According to the casinos the trend for
the past few years has been more towards
those pennies instead of the larger
denomination machines. They say that the
average wager on the slot machines is
between $.60 and two dollars. They say
that they have a lot of their dollar and
quarter slot machine players that have
now started playing the penny games
instead.
Based
on this information, it would seem high
time for many of the other casinos that
may not be offering as many penny slot
machines to start doing so. Let's face
it, $17.8 billion doesn't lie.
